L'Acteur et la Marionnette

Comment apprivoiser la marionnette ? Par quel bout la tenir ? Où se situe le marionnettiste sur scène ?
Le mouvement suffit-il à la vie ? Comment donner voix à la marionnette ?

Méthode d’approche :
- Observer et expérimenter les différentes techniques de manipulation de marionnettes et d’objets.
- Questionner par des exercices "révélateurs" le mouvement et le regard, l’espace et le temps.
- Improviser en suivant des contraintes qui aideront à émanciper le jeu.
- Laisser la marionnette nous guider vers des dimensions de jeux extralucides.
- Apprendre à « désincarner » les personnages.
- La marionnette est une « suraction » du théâtre, elle incite à jouer, à s’oublier, à lâcher prise.
- Être à l’écoute de la marionnette.

Nous travaillerons principalement avec des marionnettes de Panoptikum Puppets & Theatre mais les participants sont invités à amener leur propre marionnette s’ils le désirent.
Ce stage est destiné aux comédiens professionnels, aux intervenants pédagogues, aux facteurs de marionnettes, à toute personne portant de l’intérêt à la marionnette et désireuse d’approfondir ou de découvrir la manipulation et ayant une expérience scénique.

A few words.....

How to grasp the puppet ? By which end to hold it ? Where does the puppeteer stand ? Is making it move enough to bring it to life ? How to make it talk?

Observing and experimenting the different techniques needed to handle puppets and objects.
Questioning by revealing exercices the movement, the stare, space and time.
Improvising by monitoring the constraints that will help us to emancipate the acting.
Letting the puppet guide us through the different acting dimensions.
Disembodying the different characters.
As a theatrical approach, a puppet encourages us to play and to let go.
Listening closely to the puppet.

We will essentially be working with puppets from the Panoptikum Puppets & Theatre but the participants are welcome to bring their own puppets if they want to.

Speaker : Jean-Michel Distexhe

Jean-Michel Distexhe handles his colleague Jérôme Thomas puppets in creations for adults : Hamlet Froid, The King Devine où je te dévore (based on the life of Léopold II), Ainsi parla Munchhaüsen, GDOGD. He has been working together with Nathalie Deroeck at the Théâtre du Ratinet (theatre for children) since 2002. In 2012, he co-founded together with Dolorès Delahaut, Franck Delatour et Jérôme Thomas La Compagnie Panoptikum & Puppets Theatre. He operates puppets as a quirky and emotional artistic vector. As a pedagogue, he gives puppeteer courses to professional actors and students at the CRB and the ARTS2 (in Mons). Trained by Neville Tranter, he has been polishing his method by anchoring his research in theatricality and in the intimate connection between the actor and the puppet. He has been pursuing his creations objectives by questioning our ties with the living.
